HaDEA, the European Health and Digital Executive Agency, is kicking off its joint action on tobacco control this January. The all-day kick off meeting will include introductions from DG SANTE and HaDEA, as the joint action prepares to strengthen cooperation between EU countries and the Commission in regards to tobacco control. 

The joint action is connected to the EU's Beating Cancer Plan, which aims for a tobacco-free generation by ensuring a 5% reduction in tobacco usage by 2040.
