SIKE Project

SIKE project showcase - Social Innovation through Knowledge Exchange

The SIKE Project will be hosting a knowledge exchange showcase 23 April to bring together and showcase some of the outcomes of the project and some of the work of the SIKE partners.

The SIKE Project developed a knowledge exchange community aimed at developing new social projects and products through universities across Europe. It responds to the need for Universities to become more proactive in driving social change through knowledge exchange and social innovation.

The day will be split across five separate sessions;

  • Inspire - after an initial presentation of the SIKE project, we will invite thought leaders in the field of Social Innovation to present their work, and will also feature some of the international collaborative projects spawned from SIKE.
  • Evolve (1) - this session will feature five competition entrants from the UK, Germany, Portugal, Croatia and the Basque Country, who have made it through the initial stages of our "business plan competition with a difference", pitching their idea to a panel of judges in order to get one step closer to a €2000 prize.
  • Engage (HEI) - in this session, we hear from each university partner on their role in the SIKE project, the work of their SIKE unit and how they have supported their Social Innovation ecosystem. We will also be asking them to cast their eyes back over the three-year project and give us an insight into their main takeaways, challenges and learnings.
  • Engage (non-HEI) - in this session, we hear from each non-university partner on their role in the SIKE project, the work of their SIKE unit and how they have supported their Social Innovation ecosystem. We will also be asking them to cast their eyes back over the three-year project and give us an insight into their main takeaways, challenges and learnings.
  • Evolve (2) - this session will feature five competition entrants from across each of our partner regions who have made it through the initial stages of the competition, pitching their idea to a panel of judges in order to get one step closer to winning €2000. At the end of the session, we will announce one winner and four runners up.
  • Collaborate - in our final session of the day, we will host a Brokerage Session where participants will enter breakout rooms to debate specific areas of Social Innovation and explore ways they might collaborate in the future.
