Rail connects remote areas, assuring internal and cross-border cohesion among European regions. However, only 7% of passengers and 11% of goods travel by rail. Obsolete infrastructure, outdated business models, and high maintenance costs are obstacles to overcome in order to create a unified European railway area.

The EU has designated 2021 as the European Year of Rail (EYR) to promote trains as safe and sustainable transport.

During this brainstorming coffee meeting, we want to plan with you the upcoming Transport WG related activities.

Therefore, we kindly ask you to bring to the meeting your regional initiatives, best practices, and any further ideas or suggestion on how ERRIN can be involved in the 2021 EYR activities.
