The REFORMERS project aims to accelerate Europe’s green transition by transforming Local Energy Systems into fully self‑sufficient Renewable Energy Valleys (REVs. Co-funded by the Horizon Europe programme, the project integrates breakthrough technologies for renewable generation, storage and distribution with a dedicated digital twin. By involving citizens, industries and public authorities in co‑designing the valley, REFORMERS addresses key challenges such as intermittency, energy security and dependency on imported fuels, ultimately creating a replicable model for resilient, multi‑energy regional ecosystems across Europe.
