Agora Thematic Dialogue: Unfolding dilemmas in urban public space development and maintenance

JPI Urban Europe invites members from adminstrations, local authorities, research communities, SMEs, civil society and grassroots organisations to attend 2019's AGORA Stakeholder Involvement Platform workshop. The event, held in Riga, Latvia, is a thematic dialogue aimed at identifying the dilemmas around public space development and maintenance in order to make such spaces inclusive and secure. 

CiProVoT final event - How to best train volunteers

The Civil Protection Volunteers Training project - CiProVoT - will present its final event this November as it comes to a close at the end of 2019. For two years CiProVoT has been a transnational, European training module for Civil Protection Volunteers. The event on 20 November begins at 14:00 and will include a presentation of the project from start to finish as well as its conclusive training methodology and programme.

EIT Food conference - The Future of Food Event

EIT Food’s first EU conference gathering policy-makers and food innovation experts to brainstorm on the future of food. The food sector is facing a number of challenges: malnutrition and obesity have become pandemics, more and more people speak out against factory farming and the sector is still responsible for 12-17% of the greenhouse gas emissions in Europe. However, change is on the horizon.

WG Leaders Strategy Workshop – planning for 2020 - Circular Economy and Low Carbon clusters

In order to start planning WG activities for 2020, all WG leaders are invited to a workshop where we will discuss the policy context, project development, and possible topics for the year ahead.

The WGs will meet according to their respective cluster:

Culture and Creative Industries, ICT, and Health clusters: Design & Creativity, Health, ICT, Tourism (19 November)

Circular Economy and Low Carbon clusters: Bioeconomy, Blue Growth, Energy & Climate Change, Smart Cities, Transport (20 November)

International Cooperation on Research and Innovation

The next Opening Science WG Meeting will take place on 12th September, from 2 to 5 pm, at the Copenhagen EU offices, 3 rue du Luxembourg.   The focal point of the event will be the structural/strategic support of international research and innovation cooperation. The event will to contribute to the debate on the future of Europe and the way forward with a focus on best ways to bring the institutions and organisations of researchers and innovators into international networks and collaborative ventures.

Blue Circular Economy WG

The next BIO and BIG joint WG will take place on 15th September and will focus on blue circular economy. We are very pleased to welcome, Dario Dubolino, DG mare A2, introducing the meeting with an overview over the Circular Blue Economy. The meeting will be dedicated to innovative technologies/methods/products and research on how to maximise and protect marine resources. We will begin with a presentatin by DG RTD to describe the European framework, regulations and state of play in the blue circular economy.
