The Hungarian Development Promotion Office was founded in 2021, with the aim to connect the Hungarian economic and social ecosystem with European funding opportunities, supporting innovative domestic stakeholders in finding credible sources of information on their EU funding opportunities, expressing their interests in future EU policy objectives, gaining visibility on the European scene. The MFOI operates as a support organisation of the Ministry of Public Administration and Regional Development. The Development Office’s Headquarters are in Budapest and it has three representations: Brussels, Beregszász and Veszprém.

The Development Promotion Office's Veszprém Representation has been established in 2024 with the aim of supporting local and Transdanubian stakeholders in accessing EU funds. The Veszprém Regional Representation’s activities cover most of the Central-Transdanubian Region, with special focus on the funcional urban area pilot programme of the Ministry of Regional Development, between two county capitals Székesfehérvár and Veszprém. The Representation also builds on the legacy of Veszprém-Balaton 2023 European Capital of Culture year.

MFOI Veszprém actively works on involving youth in the innovation ecosystem. Besides the provision of university lectures, the University of Pannonia and MFOI Veszprém co-created the Resource-Space (Forrás Tér) to hold thematic information sessions on EU funding to students and companies. The Veszprém Representation has a double goal of filling the gap in the innovation ecosystem in the region with connecting innovative companies, the universities and local authorities of every scale, and local Chambers of Commerces, national parks; and actively promoting European funding opportunities to the clients as well.
