The Brussels Office of ADR Nord-Est (North-East Regional Development Agency, Romania) represents the North-East Region of Romania in the EU.
We work with counties, municipalities, universities, businesses, learning facilities, and other organizations.
The Brussels Office was founded in 2010 and aimed to ensure North-East Romania a strong voice in the EU and to endorse that our region is a proactive player that benefits from all the opportunities and that promotes itself as a European region open to the world.

THE REGION
The North East (Nord-Est) is a development region in Romania that comprises the following counties: Botosani, Iasi, Vaslui, Bacau, Neamt, and Suceava.
The area of our region is 36,850 km2, slightly bigger than Belgium, and the population is roughly 3.3 million.
In the past 10 years, in our region, the GDP per capita, the quality of infrastructure, and the economic complexity have all increased consistently, following the national trend.
In 2019, Romania made it to the high-income group of countries, from a formerly an upper-middle-income, according to the World Bank.
According to the ATLAS of Economic Complexity, powered by Harvard’s Growth Lab, Romania ranks as the 25th most complex economy in the World, improving 5 positions in the ECI ranking between 2008 - 2018.
Iasi, the main city of North East, was ranked the 2nd in TOP 10 Tech Cities of the Future 2020/21 – Cost-Effectiveness.

Botoșani County Council, Romania is seeking a project partner for the Citizens, Equality, Rights, and Values Programme (CERV) Town Twinning call. The deadline for interest is 21 July.
ERRIN recently participated in the RECIPROCITY Mobility Mission held in Istanbul from 23-26 May. This mission was a valuable opportunity to explore Istanbul’s innovative mobility ecosystem, engage in knowledge sharing and discuss best practices. Beyond the Mobility Missions, the RECIPROCITY project offers further opportunities for ERRIN members.
On 7 June 2023, the first meeting of the ERA Forum sub-group ‘Access to excellence’ – ‘R&I and Cohesion Managing Authorities’ Network (RIMA) was held. The discussion focused on operationalising funding synergies, a topic covered also in the DUT & ERRIN Policy Working Group workshop on 8 June.
International partners from Be.CULTOUR project community traveled to West Yorkshire from 27 to 30 May to learn more about key events and destinations in the district, including Bradford 2025, exchange successful approaches and build collaborations. The visit was organised in the frame of the peer-learning activities of Be.CULTOUR, where Saltaire Inspired, an arts charity creating contemporary art events in Saltaire Industrial Village, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is one of the 16 mirror ecosystems. Among the visitors, 3 ERRIN members took part in the event, presenting their innovative approaches toward circular cultural tourism and experience as Capitals of Culture: the City of Leeuwarden, APT Basilicata and the City of Savonlinna.
North East Romania Regional Development Agency is in search of Managing Authorities/Intermediate bodies (responsible for the audit and control procedures) from the North and West of Europe to work on a project tackling the application of data science techniques for more efficient and effective PR FESR 2021-2027 control procedures.
Bacau County Council, North-East Region Romania is looking for partners for an Interreg Europe programme call, with the project: Fostering Innovative and Sustainable Sport Tourism Activities [FISSTA]. This will tackle the Culture and sustainable tourism objective from "More Social Europe- policy objective 4".
