The Slovenian Business and Research Association (SBRA) is a Brussels-based liaison office of the most successful Slovenian organisations from both the public and private sectors. Established in 1999 as an international non-profit association connecting business, research and local communities in Slovenia with the EU institutions and other public and private bodies at the EU level. SBRA members represent a wide spectrum of Slovenian interests, from the fields of business and research. As of 2019, SBRA acts as the Secretariat and host institution of the Network of European Financial Institutions for Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises (NEFI). During 2011 – 2023, SBRA also has been acting as the Secretariat of the Knowledge Economy Network (KEN).

Coastour Project’s call for rural coastal tourism SMEs application is now open! COASTOUR project’s focus is on sustainable and resilient transformation of the rural coastal tourism industry. Consortium partners are to represent coastal rural areas in 5 countries: Denmark, Lithuania, Italy, Portugal and Slovenia. Deadline for project proposals is on 28 August 2024, 17:00 CET.

The international conference titled 'Fostering Research and Educational Synergies Across Southeast Europe and the Western Balkans' will be held on 12 June 2025, from 10:30 to 16:00, at the Permanent Representation of the Republic of Slovenia to the European Union. This in-person event is organised by the University of Ljubljana, the Rectors’ Forum of Southeast Europe and the Western Balkans and the Slovenian Business & Research Association (SBRA), with the support of the Permanent Representation of the Republic of Slovenia to the EU. The conference aims to advance academic cooperation, strengthen institutional networks, and foster a shared vision for the future of higher education and research in the Western Balkans and Southeast Europe, with a particular focus on bridging collaboration between EU member states and non-EU countries in the region.
The Laboratory of Control Systems and Cybernetics at the University of Ljubljana and the Department for Industrial Furnaces and Heat Engineering at RWTH Aachen University are organising the 6th European Academic Symposium on EAF Steelmaking in Ljubljana, Slovenia. This event will take place on 11-13 June 2025.
