The new 2Zero's Strategic Research and Innovation Agenda (SRIA) focuses on four pillars:

• Pillar 1: Vehicle technologies and vehicle propulsion solutions for BEV and FCEV

• Pillar 2: Integration of the BEV into the energy system and related charging infrastructure

• Pillar 3: Innovation concepts, solutions and services for the zero emission mobility of people and goods

• Pillar 4: LCA and circular economy approaches for sustainable and innovative road mobility solutions.

The document is the result of consultations held from January 2023. It includes the feedback received after the publication of two Work Programmes (2021-2022 and 2023-2024) and 32 projects selected for funding.

The updated SRIA considers the most recent developments in pertinent legislation, such as Fit for 55, AFIR, Sustainable and Smart Mobility Strategy.

Pillar 1 was reinforced to better consider usage models, modularity, recyclability, and reusability of materials. Pillar 2 focuses now on interoperability, user-centric aspects, and integrating renewable energy sources and Vehicle-to-Everything services. In pillar 3 four main items were strengthened: clarified user-centric perspectives, collaborations, and integration in Mobility-as-a-Service and Physical and Digital Infrastructure. Pillar 4 extended circular economy aspects and introduced new sub-topics. The review process also addressed international aspects and coordination with other partnerships and initiatives.
