ERRIN signs open letter calling for decisive action to ensure UK association to Horizon Europe

ERRIN and 24 organisations representing the European Union’s research and innovation community have signed an open letter to European Commission President von der Leyen. The letter calls for decisive action to ensure the United Kingdom’s association to Horizon Europe without further delay.

The signatories, including the European University Association, EARMA and The Guild, reflect on European R&I actors’ long history of trusted collaboration with the UK and the benefits those partnerships have brought to research tackling some of the world’s most pressing challenges. The joint statement welcomes the agreement for the UK to associate to Horizon Europe but expresses that the continued absence of a clear timeline for finalising UK association is causing increased concern. This uncertainty endangers current and future plans for collaboration with the first Horizon Europe grant agreements approaching and new calls being launched soon.
