The Commission has presented an Action Plan for the development of organic production. Its aim is to boost the production and consumption of organic products in the EU, raise agricultural land under organic farming to 25% by 2030 and increase organic aquaculture. 

The plan is in line with the European Green Deal, The Farm to Fork and Biodiversity strategies. 

Relating to consumption, demand will be boosted by helping consumers make trusted and informed decisions. Production will be increased by supporting farmers to convert to organic farming via eco-schemes backed by €38 - 58 billion of funding.
