Commission begins testing interoperability of national contact tracing apps

As national contact tracing and warning apps begin to be rolled out across Europe to stop the spread of coronavirus, the Commission is setting up an interoperability gateway service to link the apps across the EU. Test runs between backend servers of several national apps are now underway.

The official apps from the Czech Republic, Denmark, Germany, Ireland, Italy and Latvia are involved in this initiative test. The ambition of the interoperability gateway is to ensure that the apps work seamlessly across-borders, so that users will only need one app andstill be able to use it when they travel abroad.

After testing it will be operational in October. Read more here
