Through Horizon 2020, the European Commission has awarded €38 million to support innovation projects working in the field of protection of infrastructure from cyber and physical threats, in order to make cities smarter and safer. 

The projects, such as SAFETY4RAILS, 7SHEILD and ENSURSEC, will work on prerventing, detecting, responding to and mitigating cyber and physical threats for metro and railway networks, satellites and e-commerce. Other funded projects will work to ehance the resilence of cities' infrastructures and services.
