Commission's scientific advisors publish opinion 'Adapatation to climate change-related health effects'

The European Commission's independent Group of Chief Scientific Avisors (SAM) has published an opinion on the health-related effects of climate change adaptation. The opinion contains advice and recommendations on how the EU can intervene to prepare the health sector, and wider society, for a resilient approach to the effects of climate change on health.

Recommendations include:

  • Integrate human health into all climate-change adpatation policies
  • Support the resilience of the health sector
  • Design policies to support the most vulnerable social groups and geographical areas.

The opinion will inform several initiatives in the Green Deal including the EU Adaptation Strategy. Read more about the opinion's publication here and read the opinion itself here
