Consultation on digital technologies for the cultural heritage sector

Consultation on digital technologies for the cultural heritage sector

As it continues to review the 2011 recommendations on the digitisation of cultural material, the European Commission has launched a consultation on the opportunities offered by digital technologies for the cultural heritage sector.

High quality and advanced technologies can provide support to the conservation, renovation, study and promotion of European cultural assets. They also bring a chance to increase the visibility of Europe's cultural diversity. These opportunities have also become increasingly important since the COVID-19 pandemic.

The Commission is seeking views on the importance of digitisation of cultural heritage institutions. The consultation is open to Member State authorities, national and regional cultural heritage institutions as well as an aray of other organisations.

The survey is open until 14th September 2020. Click here for more.
