CoR launches working group: Green Deal Going Local

The European Committee of the Regions has launched a new working group that will ensure cities and regions are able to bring about the European Green Deal at a local level with concrete projects and direct funding.

The working group, 'Green Deal Going Local', is composed of 13 local and regional elected representatives who will work to guarantee that EU cities and regions are directly involved int the definition, implementation and assessment of initatives under the EU Green Deal. 

The working group's current priorities are:

  • European climate law
  • Climate pact
  • Just Transition Fund
  • New Industrial Strategy for Europe
  • Water
  • Hydrogen
  • Circular economy action plan
  • Bio-diversity
  • Forests
