Deadline extended: Contribute to the 2026 assessment of EU Missions
ERRIN invites its members – regional and local authorities, research and innovation organisations, higher education institutions, etc. – to contribute to the 2026 Assessment of EU Missions by completing a short survey open until 25 October 2025.
The survey, conducted by EFIS Centre in partnership with Technopolis Group on behalf of the European Commission’s Directorate-General for Research and Innovation (DG RTD), aims to gather valuable feedback from citizens and stakeholders involved in theEU Missions.
Why your input matters
The EU Missions represent an ambitious way of bringing research and innovation closer to people by tackling some of Europe’s greatest challenges – from adapting to climate change to restoring our ocean and waters, achieving climate-neutral cities, improving cancer outcomes and ensuring healthy soils.
As the European Commission looks ahead to the 2026 evaluation of the EU Missions (due in Q1 2026), this is a crucial moment to assess their progress, achievements and future direction.
ERRIN believes that the mission-oriented approach remains an effective way to address complex societal challenges and should continue to play a central role in EU research and innovation policy beyond 2030. The Missions translate EU-level ambitions into local action, empowering regions and cities to lead systemic change through innovation and collaboration. They foster new governance models, cross-sectoral partnerships and citizen engagement, creating lasting impact beyond traditional R&I frameworks.
Have your say
ERRIN members and other local and regional stakeholders involved in the EU Missions are encouraged to participate in the survey. Your insights and experiences will play an important role in assessing how effectively the Missions are engaging citizens and stakeholders, and how their implementation could be improved in the future. The results of this survey will inform the European Commission’s assessment and recommendations for the continued implementation of the EU Missions.
Your participation will provide valuable evidence to shape future policy actions and strengthen Mission engagement at all levels.
