DUT Call 2026: Preliminary information available

The Driving Urban Transitions (DUT) Partnership has published preliminary information on its 2026 funding call, which will officially open on 1 September 2026. The call will support transnational research and innovation projects helping cities address urban challenges and accelerate the transition towards climate-neutral and resilient urban areas.

Projects can address one or more of the Partnership's three Transition Pathways:

  • 15-minute City
  • Circular Urban Economies
  • Positive Energy Districts

A new cross-cutting topic on the adaptive reuse of existing urban structures and spaces will be available across all three pathways, alongside pathway-specific topics covering areas such as sustainable mobility, neighbourhood economies, urban greening, circular production and Positive Energy District solutions.

The call is open to research organisations, local and regional authorities, companies, civil society organisations and other relevant stakeholders. Eligible consortia must include at least three partners from three participating countries, including at least one municipality or local authority. Projects are expected to run for up to 36 months, with most requesting a total budget of around €1–2 million.
