ERRIN at the Cities Mission Conference and EURESFO 2024

This year, the Cities Mission Conference will take place in Valencia, Spain, on 25-26 June. This annual event is a key opportunity for representatives from the 112 Mission Cities and other Mission stakeholders to gather, share knowledge, build capacity, and collaborate through various workshops and policy sessions.

ERRIN will participate in the conference as a partner in the NetZeroCities project, which manages the Cities Mission Platform. As the conference is partly organised in collaboration with the European Urban Resilience Forum (EURESFO) this year, ERRIN will also be there to promote its two Mission Adaptation projects: RESIST and Pathways2Resilience

ERRIN’s role at the conference

The NetZeroCities team from the ERRIN Secretariat will be actively engaged throughout the two-day event. On Tuesday 25 June, ERRIN's two City Advisors will lead dynamic peer-to-peer exchange sessions between the Mission Cities. Then, on Wednesday 26 June, ERRIN colleagues will co-organise two exciting sessions.

The session ‘Our common Mission: Collaboration for a resilient and climate neutral future’ will explore opportunities to enhance collaboration between Mission Adaptation and the Cities Mission. By analysing the compatibility of frameworks and tools provided by Mission projects, this session aims to uncover ways to maximise synergy. Cities and regions involved in the Missions, including ERRIN member Normandy, will share their experiences and challenges in utilising such tools to achieve Mission objectives.

Meanwhile, the session ‘All hands on deck: how do national platforms help cities go climate neutral?’ will delve into the crucial role of national support structures in the Cities Mission. This interactive discussion will highlight the various ways these platforms assist cities on their path to climate neutrality. Participants will have the opportunity to share advice, swap experiences, and gain valuable insights on maximising support for their climate goals.

Finally, be sure to visit ERRIN at the marketplace, where organisations, projects and initiatives will be showcased. ERRIN will be supporting the stands for its two Mission Adaptation projects, RESIST and Pathways2Resilience, as well as hosting its own stand. Do not miss this opportunity to stop by and discover more about ERRIN's activities and Mission work.
