ERRIN is pleased to welcome Podlaskie Region as one of its new members for 2026
Podlaskie Voivodeship is a regional authority based in Białystok, Poland, coordinating European funds and strategic projects that strengthen the region's growth and resilience. Podlaskie also maintains a permanent representation in Brussels. Its innovation ecosystem is built on close cooperation between public administration, universities, enterprises and business support institutions.
A dynamic region at the crossroads of Europe
Podlaskie Voivodeship is one of Poland's 16 regions and holds a distinctive place both geographically and culturally. For centuries, it has been a borderland where different cultures, nationalities and religions have met, with Polish, Belarusian, Lithuanian, Tatar, Ukrainian and Jewish traditions forming a unique mosaic that continues to shape the region's identity.
Podlaskie is home to Poland's first Centre for Artificial Intelligence in Medicine and holds leading national positions in agricultural machinery manufacturing, dairy processing and boatbuilding. The region is also present on the map of Regional Innovation Valleys, supporting the development of products in AgriTech, FoodTech and HealthTech as its response to challenges such as economic security, demographic change and sustainable development.
R&I priorities rooted in regional strengths
The main drivers of innovation in Podlaskie are its smart specialisation sectors, identified in the Smart Specialisation Strategy for the Podlaskie Region:
Agri-food industry
