Green Deal

European Green Deal call launched

The European Commission has launched the Horizon 2020-funded European Green Deal Call which addresses the biggest climate issues and aims to protect the ecosystems and biodiversity. The call will also support the EU recovery by creating innovation opportunities to solve the ecological challenges.

The call tackles eight thematic areas:

  • Increasing climate ambition
  • Clean, affordable and secure energy
  • Industry for a clean and circular economy
  • Energy and resource efficient buildings
  • Sustainable and smart mobility
  • Farm to fork
  • Biodiversity and ecosystems
  • Zero-pollution, toxic-free environments
  • strengthening knowledge
  • empowering citizens.

The deadline for submissions is 26 January 2021, with selected projects expected to start in autumn 2021. A Horizon 2020 Green Deal Call Info Day & Brokerage event will take place as part of the virtual European Research & Innovation Days that will take place from 22-24 September 2020.

As the Green Deal call reflects the interests of several ERRIN working groups, a project facilitation workshop has been organised on the Area 6: Farm to Fork, and more similar events will be organised in the coming months. Read more about the event here.
