The 2021 European innovation scoreboard is now available, showing that the bloc's innovation performance continues to improve. Innovation performance across the EU has increased by 12.5% on average since 2014, while the 2021 innovation leader was named as Sweden.

Five EU countries experienced an improvement of 25 points or more, including Cyprus, Estonia, Greece, Italy and Lithuania.
