The European Commission has launched a high-level expert group - the Fit for Future Platform - to help simplify and reduce the administrative burden in the EU legislative process.

The platform consists of a government group and a stakeholder group and aims to unite the Member States' national, regional and local representatives, the Committee of the Regions, the European Economic and Social Committee and other stakeholder groups. Together their practical expertise in various policy areas will help ensure that EU legislation is future-proof and ready to tackle new challenges such as digitalisation. 

The Commission is now recruiting experts for its stakeholder group. Members will be selected for their expertise in EU law implementation and their interests within the field. They can represent businneses, social partners and civil soceity organisations. Applications to join the stakeholder group are now open until 19th June 2020.
