The first call for large-scale projects from the Innovation Fund has launched. It calls for projects that will bring to market clean tech solutions needed for the EU to reach climate-neutrality. 

€1 billion is available for projects from the following sectors:

• Renewable energy
• Energy intensive industries
• Carbon capture, use and storage
• Energy storage. 

The Innovation Fund is one of the world's largest funding programmes for demonstration of innovative low-carbon technologies. From 2020 - 2030 the fund may amount to €10 billion depending on the carbon price. It is a key funding instrument for delivering the European Green Deal.
