Healthier together: EC call for non-communicable diseases best practices

Healthier together: EC call for non-communicable diseases best practices

At the end of 2021, the European Commission launched its 'Healthier together' initiative to help EU countries to identify and implement effective policies and actions to reduce the burden of major non-communicable diseases. A new call seeks best practices for the EU's non-communicable diseases initiative.

There are five strands of the initiative, covering cardiovascular diseases, diabetes, chronic respiratory diseases, mental health and neurological disorders. There is also an additional horizontal strand on health determinants.

The Commission is now calling for best practices for implementation in EU countries focussing on the five strands of Healthier together. Actions addressing health inequalities and 'Health in All Policies' approaches are also welcome.
