The winners of the 2020 Life Awards have today been announced at EU Green Week. The awards celebrate the most innovative, inspirational and effective LIFE projects. 

The winners include:

• DINALP Bear - A Slovenian based project that achieved a better human-bear co-existence in the Dinaric Mountains won in the Nature category
• Flaw4Life - A project from Lisbon that fights food waste by creating an alternative market for ugly fruits and vegetables won in the Environment category and also won the 2020 Citizen's Prize
• FIRELIFE - This project worked on reducing forest fires in Hungary and won in the Climate category
• Life PREPAIR - This project won the Adapting to COVID-19 Award for its work on understanding the impact of the pandemic.
