During EU Green Week, the winners of the 2021 LIFE Awards were announced by the LIFE programme.

Winners were announced in three categories: nature, environment and climate action. In addition, a publicly-voted Citizens' Award was announced as well as the LIFE4Youth Award.

The winners are:

• Nature - LIFE ENERGY, a team from the Slovak Republic worked to stop birds colliding with power lines;
• Environment - LIFE REFUSING POSIDONIA, a team from Formentera, Spain used dried seagrass as effective and inexpensive thermal insulation in social housing units;
• Climate Action - LIFE FORECCAsT, a team in the Languedoc Regional Nature Park put in place climate change adaptation strategies;
• LIFE Citizens' Prize - TARTALIFE, a project to help reduce the number of sea turtles being caught in fishing nets along 15 Italian coastal areas.
