Main outcomes of the WIRE 2018 session hosted by ERRIN and Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes on 5th July 2018

On 5th July,  ERRIN and Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes hosted a session on “Cooperation between regional innovation ecosystems: inspiration from Alpine Regions”, during the 9th edition of WIRE, the Week of Innovative Regions in Europe. The session focused on how to use existing EU policies and instruments in a coordinated manner, across governance levels, to support transformation towards resilient, inclusive and sustainable growth at territorial level. Practical examples on regional innovation ecosystems from Alpine Regions have been showcased to highlight the importance of interregional cooperation and to make proposals for further synergy and better coordination between the different programmes and instruments.  A summary of the main outcomes of the session as well as of the regional examples presented is attached herewith, together with the presentations of the speakers. WIRE, the Week of Innovative Regions in Europe, brings together regional, national and European innovation experts and stakeholders, including public organisations, policymakers, research communities and enterprises.This year, the conference has been organised during the first week of the Austrian EU Council Presidency on 4-6 July in Innsbruck.
