Due for adoption in 2026, The Circular Economy Act aims to accelerate the transition to a more circular economy, increasing the EU’s economic security, resilience, competitiveness and decarbonisation. The Act will facilitate the free movement of ‘circular’ products, secondary raw materials and waste. It will also increase the supply of high-quality recycled materials and stimulate demand for these materials in the EU. The Circular Economy Act will contribute to the goals set out in the Competitiveness Compassand the Clean Industrial Deal to make the EU the world leader in circular economy by 2030.
ERRIN encourages its members to contribute and share local and regional perspectives. The consultation runs from 1 August 2025 to 6 November 2025 and aims to gather feedback to better understand the bottlenecks and opportunities for the wider deployment of a circular economy.
