Scalable Cities Action Grant: third call for proposals open

The third call for proposals of the Scalable Cities Action Grant is open until the end of January 2024.

The Scalable Cities Action Grant financially supports cities and ad-hoc partnerships that wish to replicate measures that were successfully implemented through Smart Cities and Communities projects to facilitate the transition towards climate neutrality. The call targets cities and related partners (local energy agencies, construction agencies, civil society organisations, research institutes) from completed Horizon 2020 SCC01 Lighthouse projects and/or external cities interested in replicating specific actions from those Scalable Cities projects.

The third call for proposals addresses three main priority topics:

  • Energy Communities
  • Positive Energy Districts
  • Data and digitalisation

This call seeks to:

  • support, promote and set up energy communities and/or to initiate community energy projects, or;
  • initiating the development of positive energy districts (PED) in the local context and/or tackling the technical, spatial, regulatory, legal, financial, social, and economic challenges of ongoing PED development projects and/or offering mentoring and knowledge exchange on PED development, or;
  • accelerate the digitalisation of the energy sector which can help municipalities to lower their energy consumption, stimulate investments in renewable energy and ultimately lower energy bills.

The total envelope available for the present call is €395.000. The maximum grant amount for one project is €50 000.

Deadline: the third call for proposals closes on 31 January 2024. Find more information here.
