Proposal Information
Open Fields - Disclosures is a pilot project with the ambition to restore youths’ useful and proactive role in economy and society. The project is designed to take place in rural European provinces and regions suffering a phenomenon of economic, demographic and social marginalization. The idea is to build up an active work and social environment together with inactive young adults. Thanks to practical training in rural cooperative projects and inclusive pedagogic methods, Open Fields – Disclosures will help them express their qualities and value on their own territory and rewrite an alternative future both themselves and their environment. Open Field – Disclosure targets disadvantaged youngsters living in rural regions facing a moderate risk of farmland abandonment to restore a rural productive community. Surpassing the convectional concept of vocational training/education and fostering a team-building approach through to the centrality of agricultural learning and work, our project want to deliver cooperative modern solutions and the basics of organic farmland managing. Moreover, thanks to the support of specific pedagogic methods as the Life and Emotional Skills’ Program in fact, we want the young adults regain the necessary motivation, confidence, identity – and finally responsibility, necessary to sustain an incremental engagement in their local communities and sustainable growth. The long term objective of the project are: To reduce school dropout To reduce unemployment rate To reduce regional emigration To reduce risk of farmland abandonment
