Partners sought for staff exchange in ongoing RISE project- Designing for People with Dementia
Proposal Information
We're looking for academic or non-academic partners in the area of design (especially in 3D design, graphic, app development) for secondment in the MSCA RISE project. RISE is a joint research and innovation project with the aim of knowledge sharing via international as well as inter-sector mobility, based on two-way secondments of research and innovation staff (exchanges) with in-built return mechanism. Project descritpion: MinD project- Designing for People with Dementia: designing for mindful selfempowerment and social engagement The MinD project runs under the MSCA RISE scheme. The MinD project runs over 4 years, March 2016 - February 2020. The key novelty of the project is the application of mindfulness and design within the dementia care context, and the co-design approach within this framework. We are currently in the second phase, the Design Phase (May 2017-August 2018), where we are working on the design realisation of 2 design ideas that respond to the issues we have identified form the data collection in the first phase: - the Good Life Kit, which aims to support people with dementia after the diagnosis meeting through personalised information and contacts, and through mindful-reflective exercises to help them manage their condition as well as their social interactions. - the Social Engagement Map, which aims to provide people with dementia with initiatives and support to stay socially engaged. The third phase, from September 2018 will be concerned with the evaluation of the models/prototypes. Besides its research aspect, the RISE scheme offers staff up-skilling and networking, and we expect this project to be a stepping stone for future collaboration, for example such as in an industrial leadership scheme to develop the models/prototypes from this project into commercial application or other such opportunities. We are looking for 2-3 academic or non-academic partners from Europe in area of design (especially in 3D design, graphic, app development). Their role would be to participate in the design work packages and, in later stages: to design evaluation, training and dissemination activities. Approximate budget for participation: depending on the level of participation, around €4500 In line with the RISE programme’s requirement for staff exchange, we deliver the project through two-week secondments that run throughout the year at different partners. The minimum participation is 1 month (30 days = 2x15 days of exchange by one visiting researcher traveling to one hosting partner).
