The main objective of the Energy & Climate Change Working Group is to act as a platform to discuss and share information on energy-related priorities and funding programmes, especially looking at the Green Deal and Horizon Europe. Since the energy-related topics are gaining importance in the European context, the WG will explore links and synergies with other areas in which energy plays a central role and cooperate with other ERRIN Working Groups.

EU Sustainable Energy Week 2020

The 15th edition of EU Sustainable Energy Week is set to run from 22nd - 26th June 2020. As part of the week, a Policy Conference and Networking village will run from 23rd - 25th June. EUSEW is the biggest event dedicated to renewable and efficient energy use in Europe.  Due to the COVID-19 crisis, EUSEW will now take place online, with all EUSEW elements having been reimagined to provide attendees with a week full of discussions paving the way to Europe’s green recovery and growth. Heavy rain risk management and emergency response

As the risks of heavy rain increase across Europe, public authorities must develop their capacities to cope with consequential hazards. Transnational cooperation will provide important support for regions, municipalities and local actors to mitigate the risks of heavy rain. Mission on 100 climate-neutral cities by 2030

The EUREC is organising the workshop 'Mission on 100 climate-neutral cities by 2030', in reference to the specific Mission planned for the Horizon Europe funding programme.  The workshop will consist of two sessions the policy hub and the members' view. The first session will be a chance for participants to better understand the mission and pose questions to the mission board, while the second session will see EUREC members share their thoughts on the challenge of making cities greener through social, regulatory and technological measures.  For more information, click here.

Energy ConFusion is a innovative business conference focussed on a sustainable future. The two-day event in Northern Sweden will discuss electrification, energy stroage and smart energy solutions.  Energy ConFusion hopes to be a place where new clean energy ideas can be generated. Monitor regional post-lockdown recovery with EC & European Space Agency's RACE tool

Together the European Commission and the European Space Agency have today launched a new platform to monitor the green and sustainable recovery following the coronavirus crisis. The European Commission has put forward its proposal for the recovery plan, Next Generation EU, which will be included within the long-term EU budget. The recovery instrument should ensure the sustainable, inclusive and fair recovery for the EU. The budget earmarks €94.4 billion for Horizon Europe where research in health and green and digital transitions will be crucial.
