European Partnership for Resilient Cultural Heritage to launch with kick-off event in Marseille
The European Partnership for Resilient Cultural Heritage (RCH), in which ERRIN is a partner, will officially launch its ten-year programme with a kick-off event taking place on 29 September 2026 in Marseille and online. The event is organised by the Fondation des Sciences du Patrimoine, in its capacity as Partnership Coordinator, together with Mucem – Musée des civilisations de l’Europe et de la Méditerranée.
This event will mark the beginning of a ten-year initiative bringing together funding agencies, ministries, public authorities, researchers, heritage professionals and citizens to strengthen European cooperation in research and innovation at the intersection of cultural heritage and climate change.
Bringing research, policy and practice together
The Marseille kick-off event will bring together representatives from the European Commission, including the Directorates-General for Research and Innovation (DG RTD) and Education, Youth, Sport and Culture (DG EAC), alongside French national and local institutions, researchers and heritage professionals.
The programme will feature sessions exploring interdisciplinary collaboration, translating research into policy, and cooperation across sectors, scales and national contexts. Researchers and professionals from both cultural heritage and climate sciences will engage in dialogue throughout the day, reflecting the Partnership’s ambition to bridge communities and strengthen collaboration between disciplines.
Why participate?
The kick-off event will provide an opportunity to:
Discover upcoming funding opportunities offered through the RCH Partnership;
Explore new perspectives for research at the intersection of cultural heritage and the climate crisis;
Connect with the growing RCH community and identify potential future project partners;
Engage in discussions bringing together science, policy and practice.
The programme is currently subject to modifications, with a preliminary version available on the RCH Partnership website.
