Fostering cooperation in Higher Vocational Education and Training (HVET) in the EUSALP area

The Action Group 3 (AG3) of the EU Strategy for the Alpine Region (EUSALP), under the leadership of the Autonomous Province of Trento and in collaboration with the Lombardy Region, is organising the high-level conference “Fostering cooperation in Higher Vocational Education and Training (HVET) in the EUSALP area”. The event, organised in the framework of the Italian Presidency of EUSALP, is included in the programme of the the European Vocational Skills Week 2022 and will take place on 18 May 2022 in Brussels.

The conference will gather key actors operating at the European and national levels and aims to launch the debate towards a future adoption of a pact for HVET in line with the European Skills Agenda and the European Strategy for Higher Education. A technical panel will discuss the added value of cooperating on higher education for its implications in terms of inclusion, mobility, digitalisation, lifelong learning, knowledge transfer and sharing.

Representatives of the European Commission (DG Education, Youth, Culture and Sport), the European Association of Regional and Local Authorities for Lifelong Learning (EARLALL) and experts in the field will attend the event and join the panel. The participation of the Friends of EUSALP MEPs will highlight the political relevance of this debate and the will to support a process of mutual recognition of HVET titles.

The conference will be hosted by the Brussels Delegation of the Lombardy Region.
