Hydrogen: The missing piece of the puzzle for climate neutrality

Hydrogen: The missing piece of the puzzle for climate neutrality

Renewable energy generation depends on the efficient use of wind and solar resources and a low-carbon baseload energy source will be crucial to achieving net-zero climate targets. Hydrogen is a significant part of the solutions puzzle together with renewable fuels and electrification. It could be touted as an energy storage vessel and eventually may form part of the solution for variable renewable energy, especially when produced from clean power through electrolysers. Clean hydrogen should have a central place in the climate-neutral economy of the future, and Europe must play a key role as the world’s clean hydrogen trailblazer.

The goal of this in-person event is to discuss the role of clean hydrogen in the EU energy system, the EU initiatives to support the hydrogen research and market and present different activities in the hydrogen domain of each respective country. In addition, the participants will have a possibility to network among each other and discuss possible cooperation plans in the field of hydrogen.
