KEP 2.0 workshop - Building Synergies for Successful Green and Digital Transitions – The Way Ahead

​The European Committee of the Regions and the European Commission are organising the first Knowledge Exchange Platform (KEP) event of the year. The "Building Synergies for Successful Green and Digital Transitions – The Way Ahead" workshop will take place on 22 June 2022, from 09:30 to 13:00, physically at the CoR, in Brussels.

The renewed KEP 2.0 initiative aims for the exchange of new R&I solutions and best practices, by organizing horizontal seminars in Brussels, and promoting so-called peer-to-peer and showcasing events organised on the ground. It allows for an efficient dialogue and transfer of expertise on R&I issues with European cities and regions, businesses, universities and citizens.

This event will focus on new ways of creating and enhancing policy and programme synergies to enable successful green and digital transitions and Horizon Europe Missions implementation. It will present current and future strategies and initiatives from the policymakers' perspective, as well as concrete examples of cities' and regions' innovative practices in the field.

ERRIN Director Pirita Lindholm will moderate one of the two discussion sessions on "Ongoing or future strategies and initiatives". The session will feature inputs from four European Commission speakers, concentrating on topics that are closely followed by the network: Innovation Agenda for Europe to which ERRIN recently submitted input and which will be the topic of the policy debate at the ERRIN Spring AGM on 23 June, Partnerships for Regional Innovation to which over 45 ERRIN members were selected to take part in the Pilot Action, regions deploying innovative R&I results from Horizon Europe and ways to exploit synergies to increase the R&I funding intensity. The debate will be followed by a Q&A session.
