Technology transfer in Biotech: successful cases in an Italian border region

Later this month, the region of Friuli Venezia Giulia, an ERRIN member, will present the results of the TRAIN project at the European Economic and Social Committee. The TRAIN: Big Data and Disease Models project - a cross border platform of validated kits for the biotech industry - is funded under the Interreg Italy-Slovenia programme.

The project aims to increase cooperation between key biomedical subjects such as research institutes, universities and companies to create a service platform. The specific areas the project covers include cardiological, neuro-inflammatory pathologies, problems related to difficult wounds and other potential pathologies.

The president of Biovalley Investments of Trieste, a representative of the International Center for Genetic Engineering (ICGEB), will intervene on behalf of the Friuli Venezia Giulia Region, as the lead partner of the project.
