Its areas of expertise in the field of R&I are: Water technologies (Centre-Val de Loire is one of the leading Region of the industrial modernisation thematic platform Water Smart Territories), Health, Cosmetics, Energy (Centre-Val de Loire is a partner of the industrial modernisation thematic platform Hydrogen valley), ICT & Data (Centre-Val de Loire has its regional DIH).

The regional innovation strategy for Centre-Val de Loire is set out to identify regional strengths and areas of growth potential for economic development and employment in the region so that the innovation actions and investments are better targeted. Centre-Val de Loire is focusing on 5 themes and projects likely to have recognised and quantified impacts on the regional territory:
• Environmental Engineering and Metrology for High Resource-consuming Activities (Including environmental monitoring, rehabilitation, drainage and treatment.)
• ICT and Services for Heritage Tourism (Innovative services to promote cultural tourism)
• Energy Efficiency Technologies for Construction, Use and Renovation of Buildings (Including passive and active energy systems)
• Design of Systems for Energy Storage (Energy storage systems - technical and chemical components assembly to improve energy transfer.)
• Biotechnologies and Services for Health and Cosmetic Industries (Innovative activities for improved supply chain network among regional actors.)
The 23rd European Week of Regions and Cities (EWRC) brought together over 6,000 participants in Brussels under the motto Shaping Tomorrow, Together. As the largest annual event on EU Cohesion Policy, it provided a platform for cities and regions to exchange ideas on sustainable development, innovation and inclusiveness. ERRIN and its members were actively engaged throughout the week, contributing to and supporting several sessions that highlighted the importance of strong and connected regional innovation ecosystems.
The European Week of Regions and Cities will once again serve as a leading platform for dialogue on regional and urban policy in Europe. ERRIN is pleased to announce that its members will be strongly represented in this year’s programme, with sessions addressing a wide range of topics.
The Chapelle-d'Angillon Cultural Association (ACCA) in Centre-Val de Loire region (France) is looking for Swedish artists for its rural land art project. The works will be exhibited along a 30-kilometre marked trail in the heart of the Sologne, passing through the village of La Chapelle-d'Angillon, which is already home to Swedish families.
On Thursday 15 June 2023, ERRIN participated to the first Living-in.EU Mayors Digital Assembly at the Brussels Urban Summit.
Centre-Val de Loire Region in Brussels is recruiting a Policy officer for European projects Research & Innovation, Economic development, Green & Digital Transitions. The application deadline is 31 January.
During the recent European Research and Innovation Days, the European Commission announced the 2nd wave of signatories to the EU Mission for Adaptation to Climate Change Charter, with a further 100 regions and local authorities signing. Of the now 215 signatories, a staggering 100 are associated with ERRIN member cities and regions.
