S3 Strategy

The strategic areas of the economy, i.e. regional smart specializations, are:

• Water Economy: a specialization based on the largest surface water resources in Poland, around which tourism, as well as a number of other types of activities that have great innovation potential, have developed. Warmia and Mazury is known for the production of yachts and boats.

• High-quality food: this specialization is based on the strong position of agriculture in the region. Around the food production region has developed a very strong scientific specialization, in which currently is achieving significant international successes and which is also a research and scientific base for companies and clusters.

• Wood and furniture: a specialization strongly rooted in the region’s traditions, which has significant competence in supplying raw materials and semi-finished products, but most of all factories located here deliver final products.
