New European Bauhaus & Creativity
As managing authority for different European programmes, Région SUD has long been a key actor in European cooperation. Reflecting its firm commitment to the European Union, Région SUD is implementing an ambitious Europe 2030 Strategy, mobilising up to €10 billion in European funding for the benefit of its residents. On the strategic front, Région SUD is driving forward-looking priorities: among others a €70 million SUD AI plan to position Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur as an exemplary region for artificial intelligence; a new Regional Operation of Interest dedicated to Defence and Security – France's only strategic tool of this kind; and excellence clusters in health, renewable energies and the maritime economy. The Region is also in charge of defining and implementing the economic development strategy, which includes research and innovation, in its territory.
