Representation of the Free State of Saxony to the European Union with its 4 universities, 5 universities of applied sciences and more than 50 research institutions has a strong tradition, especially in engineering, microelectronics, materials research and resource technologies as well as innovative actors in the growing areas of medical and biotechnologies. International cooperation and sharing of knowledge and resources are seen as crucial to strengthen the excellence and competitiveness of research and innovation and their further development in Saxony.
