The European Commission has opened a call for expressions of interest to join the first-ever European Housing Alliance, a new initiative aimed at addressing the housing affordability crisis affecting millions of people across Europe.
Launched by Commissioner for Energy and Housing Dan Jørgensen, the Alliance will support the implementation of the European Affordable Housing Plan, presented by the European Commission in December 2025.
The European Housing Alliance brings together national, regional and local governments, alongside a broad range of stakeholders, including youth organisations, tenant and owner representatives and EU institutions. By creating a platform for cooperation, knowledge sharing and the exchange of best practices, the Alliance seeks to develop practical solutions to the housing challenges faced by communities across the EU.
For regions and regional stakeholders, the Alliance represents an important opportunity to contribute expertise, share innovative approaches and engage directly in discussions on the implementation of the European Affordable Housing Plan. Stakeholders interested in becoming members of the European Housing Alliance can submit an expression of interest through the European Commission's registration form. Registration is open: the Housing Alliance will remain an open platform and members can join at any time.
