The Joint Research Centre, in collaboration with the European Committee of the Regions, has published the "Innovation for place-based transformations. ACTIONbook, practices and tools". The ACTIONbook aims to help address complex societal challenges by building upon the PRI Playbook and PRI Pilot in which over 45 ERRIN members participated, and which has been actively supported by the network.

‘Innovation for place-based transformations. ACTIONbook, practices and tools’ consists of three parts:

1. The ACTIONbook to build partnerships for fair green and digital transitions
2. The Collection of practices, with living examples on transformative innovation
3. Tools for ACTION, containing 74 tools (from T00 to T73), is an updated version of the toolbox in the PRI Playbook.

It aims to identify activities to help reflect on how things can be done differently and make innovation policies part of the collective purpose-driven change necessary to achieve place-based transformations. It takes a user-oriented and operational approach and focuses on how to make policy activities more transformative.
