Project opportunities for members

Project opportunities for members in the Missions-related calls under Horizon Europe

ERRIN has been actively involved in supporting its members - regions and their R&I ecosystems - in developing successful proposals under the EU Missions calls of the Horizon Europe programme. By understanding the interests and capabilities of its members, ERRIN aims to foster effective partnerships and facilitate the development of high-quality projects that align with the EU Missions objectives.

To gauge the level of interest and identify potential roles, ERRIN designed a short survey and invited members and their regional stakeholders to share their priorities. The survey revealed considerable interest, with over 45 expressions of interest across the four missions. ERRIN members can continue to give further contributions until 2 June.

Building upon the survey results, the Bioeconomy Working Group and the Adaptation Task Force organised two informal meetings focused on the Mission Soil and Mission Adaptation calls. These meetings, held on 3 May and 16 May respectively, gathered around 55 participants and served as valuable platforms for members to engage in discussions and foster potential consortia. ERRIN also sought to gather input on the same interest from external stakeholders who can contribute to future consortia, especially as potential coordinators. By bringing stakeholders together, ERRIN facilitated collaboration and enhanced the development of project ideas.

With the survey responses and meetings, ERRIN initiated the process of connecting members with potential stakeholders. The results of the mapping and matchmaking sessions have been shared with potential coordinators and members who expressed interest in the calls. The ERRIN Secretariat and relevant Working Groups and Task Forces will continue to support and facilitate the connections and dialogue between members and potential coordinators. The EU Missions remain a key priority for ERRIN, forming one of the core pillars of ERRIN’s input to the European Commission’s recent consultation on the EU R&I framework programmes (2014-2027) and shaping the direction of numerous ERRIN Working Groups. In addition, the European Commission and ERRIN recently launched the Mission Soil Manifesto, a crucial step towards the success of the EU Mission 'A Soil Deal for Europe'. Other EU Missions also continue to be followed closely, particularly through informal dialogues between ERRIN and European Commission.
