Daniel Janeiro

Daniel Janeiro holds a Master's degree in International Relations and European Studies, alongside a degree in Business Management. He serves as the Head of External Relations & Strategic Projects at ADRAL (Alentejo Regional Development Agency).

With 15 years of experience in regional development, he is a Senior European Funding Strategist. He directs the submission and execution of highly competitive EU funding frameworks (such as Horizon Europe and I3), actively managing a multi-million-euro portfolio in critical sectors including energy transition (H2tALENT) and climate adaptation (BLOSSOM, MOSAIC).

As the strategic lead for the "Invest in Alentejo" initiative, he drives the region's external promotion and economic diplomacy. Through the implementation of advanced networking tools and strategic decision-making instruments, he has successfully leveraged over €10 million in Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) across European and global markets.

At the European level, he serves as Vice-President of EURADA (European Association of Regional Development Agencies) and coordinates the Permanent Representation of Alentejo in Brussels. Furthermore, he is an appointed expert for the European Commission's Harnessing Talent Platform, the Lead Negotiator for the EU IURC Program (China and Latin America), and the official regional representative at ERRIN (European Regions Research and Innovation Network).
