The Design & Creativity WG aims to raise awareness of design and creativity as tools and drivers for innovation in different sectors and across Europe. Our objectives are the following: To present challenges; especially in relation to sectors that do not yet work with design (thinking) and creativity; to showcase the importance of design & creativity through good examples and concrete cases; to create a strong and vital community among our stakeholders across Europe through a bottom-up approach; to connect designers, thinkers, business, policy and society interested in finding common solutions for different challenges and to create opportunities for the WG members to develop project proposals, share their ideas, stories and ongoing activities with the EU community.

GazteFilm Fest is a unique festival made for and by the children, formed by a collaboration of two entities: Zinhezba and Kalakalab. They are searching for partners to apply to the Interreg Europe call to grow, strengthen and label their activities, create a network of similar festivals and future generation skills and creative education, and use audiovisual tools for the twin transition and social cohesion.

On 7 December, ERRIN celebrated the network’s achievements in 2023. Following an engaging meeting with leaders of our 15 Working Groups, all ERRIN members were invited to a cocktail reception featuring a keynote from Markus Schulte, Head of Cabinet of Iliana Ivanova, European Commissioner for Innovation, Research, Culture, Education and Youth. The Botoșani County Council is seeking to join a consortium for a project under the European cooperation projects call, culture strand, Creative Europe program. The Botoșani County Council is open to joining an already established consortium or contributing to the formation of a new one, as well as to the development of a new project idea.
Region Jönköping County is looking for partners to build an international consortium for mutual benefits, exchange, and cooperation in literary works. The consortium is planned to be in connection to an application within Creative Europe on the call Circulation of Literary Works with Region Jönköping County as project owner.
A handbook on the New European Bauhaus (NEB) was recently developed as part of the NEBULA project, a Coordination and Support Action funded by the Horizon Europe program. The handbook is addressed to any person or entity willing to understand the concepts underlying the New European Bauhaus initiative launched by the European Commission and get familiar with the associated resources and opportunities.
The Creative FLIP project has launched Creatives unite, the platform mapping cultural and creative sector working conditions in the EU. This tool is a unique EU-wide knowledge resource providing concise and factual information and allowing for comparative mappings and issue-based analysis.
The 2023 annual work programme for implementing the Creative Europe programme foresees the publication of a call for proposals with €1.05 million allocated to developing an action for cultural and creative sectors and industries. This call builds upon the European Parliament's pilot project results and the preparatory action FLIP (Finance, Learning, Innovation, and Patenting/IPR).
