Energy & Climate Change
The main objective of the Energy & Climate Change Working Group is to act as a platform to discuss and share information on energy-related policies and funding programmes, especially looking at the Green Deal and REPowerEU, the Green Industrial Plan, the Hydrogen Valleys, the energy storage and batteries (with reference to S3 Partnership on batteries) and Horizon Europe.
The priority areas also feature climate change issues (such as climate adaptation), nature-based solutions and natural resources. The WG is set to explore links and synergies with other areas in which energy and climate change play central role and cooperate with other ERRIN Working Groups, namely the Transport, Smart Cities, SEFS and S3 Working Groups, as well as the ERRIN Task Forces on climate adaptation and on the New European Bauhaus.

European Week of Regions and Cities
The 2024 edition of the European Week of Regions and Cities is taking place from 7-10 October in Brussels. Under the motto "Empowering Regions" - thousands of local and regional administrations and authorities, EU institutions, young politicians, academics, NGOs and private sector representatives will gather in Brussels to share knowledge, experiences and ideas on how to bring forward practical and territorial aspects linked to the Cohesion Policy.

Stockholm Science City Foundation and the Stockholm Business Region are organising a summit on Innovation Districts. Launch Event of the Clean Energy Transition Partnership 2024 Call
The Clean Energy Transition Partnership launches its third Joint Call on 19 September 2024. On that occasion, they are organising a launch event to provide more information on what topics will be addressed in 2024 and to clarify all open questions about applying for the Joint Call 2024. Cities Mission – focus on sustainable urban mobility
Transport and Smart Cities WGs will organise a meeting on proposed mobility strategies in the Climate Cities Contracts and the measures needed to reduce emissions. Representatives from cities awarded with the EU Mission Label will present their best practices and insights into how they are taking steps to reduce mobility-related emissions and reach climate neutrality by 2030. The event will take place in Brussels on 10 September, 14:30 - 16:30. Workshop on regional policies to promote the adoption of innovation by public administrations
The EU project Prepare brings together four regions that are interacting with the local ecosystems to design novel policies that promote demand-driven co-creation for the benefit of local public services, SMEs and citizens. The aim is to help unlock the potential of innovation procurement to turn regional needs into opportunities. A workshop with thematic insights, resources and best practices will take place on 27 June from 9:00-12:30 in Brussels.

ERRIN Spring AGM 2023 – taking stock of the EU Missions
ERRIN’s Spring Annual General Meeting (AGM) 2023 took place on 22 June this year. As always, it brought together the large and dynamic community of member regions and cities. Following the format part with the update from the network, the main focus was the EU Missions, approached in two policy debates, on the support and implementation frameworks in Adaptation, Ocean and Waters and Soil Missions, and the governance innovation and the perspective on Cities and the Cancer Missions.

Plenary Meeting of the S3 European Hydrogen Valleys Partnership and call for input
On 20 June 2023, ERRIN participated in the Plenary Meeting of the S3 European Hydrogen Valleys Partnership, hosted in the House of the Dutch Provinces in Brussels. In this context, ERRIN with its Energy & Climate Working Group is in the process of producing an input paper building on the work of the S3 Partnership on Hydrogen Valleys and collecting ERRIN’s members’ needs, challenges and solutions.
Horizon Europe Cluster 6 - Info Day
The Horizon Europe Cluster 6 (Food, Bioeconomy, Natural resources, Agriculture and Environment) Info days about the Work Programme 2024 will be taking place on 27 - 28 September 2023. The aim of this hybrid event is to promote funding opportunities and explain the call topics under the 2024 Work programme. A physical brokerage event will be organised on 26 September 2023 in the Charlemagne building of the European Commission.
