Energy & Climate Change

The main objective of the Energy & Climate Change Working Group is to act as a platform to discuss and share information on energy-related priorities and funding programmes, especially looking at the Green Deal and Horizon Europe. Since the energy and climate change-related topics are gaining importance in the European context, the WG is set to explore links and synergies with other areas in which energy plays a central role and cooperate with other ERRIN Working Groups.

The European Sustainable Energy Week 2021 (EUSEW) will once again be held as a digital event, with more opportunities than ever to connect, engage, network and reflect on the biggest issues in clean energy in Europe and beyond. The event will run from 25 to 29 October 2021.

The New European Bauhaus - Creating sustainable living environment on local level

ERRIN has become a Bauhaus partner and set up a cross-sectoral task force to shape the New European Bauhaus initiative. As the first activity of the task force, a conversation will be hosted to discuss the objectives of the New European Bauhaus with the European Commission and provide input towards building a joint and multi-disciplinary initiative with regions and cities as its main drivers.

Horizon Europe info-days

The European Commission has announced the first edition of the Horizon Europe info-days, which will take place over 10 days, divided into nine themes. From 28 June to 9 July 2021, the event will give prospective applicants insight into the novelties, main funding instruments and processes of Horizon Europe.

The European Commission has adopted the main work programme of Horizon Europe for the period 2021-2022. The programme outlines the objectives and topic areas that will receive a share of €14.7 billion in funding.

Educational-Center Ringkøbing-Skjern's, Denmark (UCRS) vision is to create a European Ecosystem of skills within green energy for vehicles by establishing a triangle of knowledge involving vocational education and training, auto industry partners (auto repair shops and vehicles manufacturers) and research partners. Our ambition is to identify and develop a skill set to ensure the successful roll-out of alternative fuels in the mobility sector for vehicles to the consumer.

Reduction of plastics and recycling of plastic waste through public procurement and public-private innovation across the plastics value chain

In Denmark, approx. 370.000 tons of plastic are incinerated every year which results in emission of approx. 1 million tonnes of CO2/year. In order to achieve Denmark’s target to reduce CO2 emissions by 70 percent by 2030 and achieve climate neutrality in 2050, long-term efforts must be made to minimize our plastic consumption and production and management of plastic waste.
