RIVCircular Cascade funding: Interregional innovation projects in circular economy
The RIVCircular project has launched a cascade funding call supporting Interregional innovation projects in circular economy.
RIVCircular is a Regional Innovation Valleys project, with several ERRIN members involved as partners. ERRIN has been closely following the developments around the Regional Innovation Valleys, continuously supporting members in applying to the related calls through a variety of activities, as well as engaging in discussions at the European level.
The RIVCircular cascade funding supports innovation projects (TRL starting and finishing 6-8) on five topics:
Topic 1: Construction and demolition waste (CDW) circularity
Topic 2: Circular Energy Integration: Valorising local waste streams for industrial efficiency
Topic 3: Electric vehicles (EV) batteries recycling and reuse
Topic 4: Circular economy in the textile industry
Topic 5: Digital solutions for circular economy
Funded projects under this call should focus on the development and/or deployment of technologies, products and services in the circular economy area, including breakthrough and disruptive innovations, through cooperation between actors from the eight participating regions and territories, considering the eligible topics by region and estimated allocation budget. Applicants legally based outside the RIVCircular partner territories, or who do not meet the criteria for operations and presence in the region, are not eligible for funding, as the RIVCircular initiative is co-funded by the Horizon Europe programme and the regional administrations within the RIVCircular partner territories.
Territories involved are: 1. Madrid Region (Spain) 2. Hauts de France Region (France) 3. Kyiv Oblast Region (Ukraine) 4. Kosice Region (Slovakia) 5. Extremadura Region (Spain) 6. Vienna Region (Austria) 7. Innlandet Region (Norway) 8. Greece at a National Level
Funded projects should propose activities to produce plans and arrangements or designs for new, altered or improved products, processes or services. These activities may include prototyping, testing, demonstrating, piloting, large-scale product validation and market replication - TRL 6 to 8. 4
Proposals must be submitted in a single-stage modality through the RIVCircular website https://www.rivcircular.eu by 17 September at 14h00 CET (the deadline date).
The call is also available on ERRIN's Project Development Tool, under the cascade funding section here.
